Who We Are

We are Destry and Aja Stoner, a married couple who are passionate about helping others find their path to recovery, with a specific focus in helping people to recover from the impacts of trauma and substance use. We first met in school while we were doing our undergraduate studies, we became the best of friends, and eventually realized that our values and recovery beliefs were closely aligned, so we became both professional and life partners. We understand the courage and energy it takes to overcome adversity, to heal from your past, to own your story, and to create a joyful life. Our passion comes from many years of experience in the helping field and a shared belief that all people have the innate ability to grow, to heal, and to create meaningful and fulfilling experiences. When we are out of the office, we enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and doing all things outdoors- hiking, cycling, kayaking and camping.

Are you feeling hurt or overwhelmed by something that happened to you? Do you find yourself stuck in upsetting patterns of thinking, feeling, or behaving that make it difficult to move forward and make decisions in your personal or professional life? Considering making changes in your life can feel daunting, and counseling can provide support and guidance as you continue building a more fulfilling life for yourself. In my practice, I strive to create a safe, collaborative, non-judgmental atmosphere that will help you better understand the difficulties you're experiencing and learn about ways to overcome them.

I embrace research-based counseling techniques and tailor my approach to your individual needs and goals. I have extensive training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and psychodynamic modalities and additionally specialize in the treatment of trauma (PTSD; abuse) and addictive behaviors (including substance misuse, video gaming, gambling, overeating, etc.).

Please call or email me with any questions or for consultation. I am happy to speak with you more about the process of counseling and what to expect and discuss how I can be helpful given your particular situation and needs. Finding someone you can trust and confide in can lighten the burden and help you find answers and rediscover hope in your life.
